Our
largest cottage is a carefully renovated 1970's bungalow.
Tastefully decorated with lots of great colour schemes, The
Anchorage is a snug and cozy retreat for a family or group. The cottage has two bedrooms on the
main floor with a queen bed in the
master bedroom and two
twin beds in the
second bedroom. Downstairs there is a
third bedroom containing a double and a twin bed, a separate
'rec room' with a hide-a-bed, TV and DVD player and an open area with a
Ping-Pong table, dart board and other games. Outdoors we have
added a
Pergola to the front deck over which a mature
Wisteria vine frames the
view of Northumberland Strait from
the
lounge chair. Our best idea was the addition of a
large screened-in deck - perfect for outdoor cooking and
eating. We'll show you how to prepare mussels or lobster in
the big propane cooking pot - a feast best enjoyed outdoors
with rolled up sleeves!

So called, because it is a weaving studio
in its ‘winter life’. In the summer it becomes a private,
beautiful cottage.
The
Studio is the renovated granary from the original homestead.
It literally housed the
grain!
Our property
dates back to the early 1900’s – not so old – yet, until the mid 80’s,
it was a working farm complete with Scottish Highland cattle,
goats, chickens and very hard working people.
In 2004 the granary was the focus of an ambitious renovation
from which it emerged with a beautiful loft-style
upper floor with lots of
windows, a
sunrise balcony, sky-lights and 3-piece bath. Comfortably
accommodates four guests (in one room) in the queen
bed and a futon. There is a well set up
kitchen downstairs with four burner stove,
microwave, fridge and utensils.
The weaving loom rests in
its own space enjoying a well deserved break from winter projects.
A comfortable lounge area looks out across the patio deck to
views of big open fields edged by tall spruce trees. The
Studio is a creative space that lends itself to a solo
journey, for whatever purpose - writing, painting, healing
or simply rest and time alone.

The
beach house is a new addition. Built in 2007 on the shores of
Gascoigne Cove,
it is the essence of simplicity, both in design and intent.
Off the grid, cooking facilities are a ‘camp kitchen’ with
two-burner stove, coolers and basic utensils.
Comfortably sleeps up to 4 on futon and floor pads.
The chairs and
picnic table on the large outside decks provide wonderful views of the
Gascoigne Cove
and outer reach. The
beach path puts you only a hop, skip and a jump away from the water’s edge
where you will find
canoe and kayaks waiting for you. A short paddle
across the cove takes you to the ‘outer reach’ and miles more peace
and quiet. The only
sounds at night are the seals calling to each other on the sand bar.
Boating equipment – two kayaks, a canoe
and all safety gear are available for the use of guests with certain
restrictions. Please ask for
details when you arrive. All
equipment is in very good condition.
